Video: Three Former Area High School Stars Sign With NFL Teams
Three former area high school stars signed free agent NFL contracts over the weekend. Two are former Ooltewah Owls. Sammy Seamster put his skills on display at MTSU Pro Day back in March in front of dozens of NFL scouts.
He signed a free agent deal with the Baltimore Ravens. Seamster ran a 4.4 40 in that pro day, turning plenty of heads. In his senior season with the Blue Raiders, Seamster played in 13 games, recording 33 tackles and one interception.
Fellow Ooltewah grad Jacques Smith will also get his chance to impress at the next level, staying close to home, signing a free agent deal with the Falcons. The Tennessee Vol played in 47 games in four years in Knoxville, recording 120 tackles and 5 sacks, also picking off a pass in his UT career.
Former North Jackson standout Tana Patrick inked a deal with the Chicago Bears. Patrick played in 7 games for Alabama last season, recording 12 tackles.
