Share prices rose cautiously in Asia on Monday, after the Dow Jones index closed last week at a record high and market players waited for a U.S. jobs report later in the week for confirmation of such optimism about the American economy. The Nikkei, the benchmark for the Tokyo Stock Exchange, was trading at 14,827.39, gaining 1.3 percent in the first hour of trading. South Korea's Kospi index inched up 0.1 percent to 1,997.48.

Video: Fannie Mae And Freddie Mac Sending Treasury $10.2 Billion After Posting First Quarter Profits
Government-backed mortgage finance companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac reported Thursday that despite home prices that grew at a meager 0.4% rate during the first quarter of 2014, the companies were able to turn a profit during the quarter--albeit smaller profits than what they earned during the same time in 2013. According to the terms set when the government bailed the mortgage siblings out of trouble in 2008, the profits will go straight into the hands of the U.S. Treasury.

Video: Twitter Is Now Oversold
According to the Wall Street Journal, investors and employees are now allowed to sell stakes for the first time since the company went public six months ago, with more than 400 million shares unlocked. Twitter shares are lower by almost 14% this afternoon. Twitter entered into oversold territory in trading on Tuesday, hitting a Relative Strength Index or RSI reading of 26.2, after changing hands as low as $34.00 per share. By comparison, the current RSI reading of the S&P 500 is 54.6.
