T-Mobile is bringing its "un-carrier" mantra to Internet radio: The company is teaming up with music company Rhapsody to launch unRadio, an ad-free music-streaming service that lets users play music on-demand as long as they want. unRadio is free for T-Mobile's Simple Choice customers, which includes those with an unlimited phone and 4G LTE data plan for about $80 a month. T-Mobile customers without unlimited data can get the music-streaming service for $4.

Thad McIlroy, a Vancouver-based digital publishing consultant, said, “This is the best phone yet for bibliophiles,” when talking about the new Amazon Fire Phone, the company’s long awaited first attempt at the smartphone market. Unlike Amazon’s principle competitors in this market, Apple and Samsung, are not companies as focused on books and reading as Amazon is. Samsung had plans to launch an ebook business but quickly abandoned them after less than a year.

Video: American Apparel Shares Soar On CEO Ouster
Shares of American Apparel soared 16% in pre-market trading Thursday after the retailer's board of directors voted to oust CEO Dov Charney. The board said late Wednesday that it has suspended Charney and plans to terminate him for cause. In a statement, Board member Allan Mayer said the "decision to replace Mr. Charney grew out of an ongoing investigation into alleged misconduct." Charney has been the subject of several lawsuits alleging inappropriate sexual conduct with female employees.

Video: Facebook Goes Down In Global Outage
Facebook appears to be a suffering a major outage this morning, with the site unavailable in multiple regions around the world, and Facebook social plug-ins on other websites also acting up. The Facebook.com site is unavailable in the UK and in other European locations including France and Belgium. It also appears to be offline in parts of Asia, including India. US Twitter users are tweeting about the site being down for them as well.

Video: Super-Powerful, Korean Galaxy S5 Gives Us A Glimpse Of The Future
Samsung has launched an upgraded variant of its flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S5, in its home market of Korea. The Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A, has a 5.1-inch screen with a super-crisp QHD resolution, making it the smartphone with the highest pixel density of around 557 ppi. For comparison, LG's recently launched G3 has the same resolution, but on a larger, 5.5-inch screen, making for an effective pixel density of 538 ppi.

"when you like pages and post click on stories in newsfeed- this helps us determine whether or not an ad will be relevant to you." the social networking service is not only logging your habits on their site, the company now says it will start following users activity on other sites as well. "now they're going to be looking at external websites that your logging in through your facebook account." if you click on a retailer's website through facebook and start looking at new televisions - your facebook news feed could start showing tv ads soon after. google and hundreds of other websites also use this targeted ad technology. but facebook will tell you why - in the coming weeks there will be a new feature ...... "just click the top right corner of the ad and click or tap on why am i seeing this ad?" a pop up will give you an explanation of why the ad was placed. the feature also allows you tell facebook which ads you want . Video: BNP Got High-level 2006 Warnings On Sanctions Busting: Report
According to Le Monde newspaper, French bank BNP Paribas was warned in 2006 by a high-ranking U.S. Treasury official and in three reports by legal experts that it risked being penalized for breaking U.S. sanctions. Since France's biggest bank flagged the risk of a big fine in February this year, sources close to the affair have said it ignored early warnings of the risks it faced. They pointed out that the alleged offending transactions being investigated by U.S. authorities continued until 2009.

Video: Microsoft Brings Outlook Web App To Some Android Devices
Microsoft made an Android version of its Outlook Web App available to a handful of devices Thursday. The app, which has the same features as the iOS version, is a pre-release and is limited to users with Office 365 for business accounts. For now, the app is limited to devices running Android KitKat 4.4 or higher that have "small" or "normal"-sized screens.

Video: Siemens, Mitsubishi Hatch Alstom Plan As French Ministers Meet
French ministers met on Thursday to discuss the fate of cash-strapped engineering group Alstom as Siemens and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries hatched a plan to beat an offer by U.S. conglomerate General Electric. The German and Japanese groups said on Wednesday they were discussing a joint offer for Alstom's energy assets that would compete with GE's $17 billion proposal and, according to the Nikkei newspaper, would be worth around $9.8 billion. Two sources familiar with the Siemens-Mitsubishi plan said it would not be a direct buyout of Alstom's power assets but would rather set up one or several joint holdings in power.
