Video: ECB Proves Europe Far From Recovery
The rate cut by the European Central Bank on Thursday did not surprise the market. But reducing the deposit rate to -0.1% proves that the economic recovery in the euro zone is not as strong as investors once thought. To a large extent, Europe’s slowing recovery was driven by weakening external factors and domestic demand in France.

Video: Mushrooms may be a solution for farmers
Farmers across the country are having problems. “It’s a pretty serious concern, it has caused tens of millions of dollars in crop damage nationwide,” said Travis Custer of San Juan Mycology.
Not bugs, and not weeds, but the chemicals that kill weeds. The problem is those chemicals can be carried to other areas through compost and manure and kill vegetables. Contaminated soil can cause problems for years, but mushrooms may be the answer.
Custer grows mushrooms to sell at local farmers markets. He said not long ago his neighbors had problems with herbicide-contaminated soil.
But soon after, he learned about the how mushrooms are known to break down chemicals. “At that point we realized that we might have some of the species and infrastructure that to do a small study”
The study is in the early stages but they are hopeful that it will lead to a method to use mushrooms to clean the soil of destructive herbicides. “We really have to focus on the quality of that food, and if farmers are dealing with contaminants that are causing crop failures, they are not producing the food that the community needs.”

Video: New 'Did APD Kill Today?' website generating controversy
a new website emerges in the controversy swirling around the albuquerque police department - a mysterious website with a title designed for shock value - stuart dyson is checking it out right now in our newsroom - stu - what's the mystery here? who's behind this thing - who started it - who named it "'did a-p-d kill today"? - for some reason that information is shrouded in layers of internet confidentiality and website security. despite the somewhat inflammatory title - "did a-p-d kill today" is actually pretty mild-,mannered and mainstream - not the burn-down-city-hall kind of thing you might expect. it tells you nobody's been killed - how many days since the last police shooting - it links you to an albuquerque journal story on the most recent one - it also lets you read the department of justice investigation letter - and it offers you a chain letter to the city council president. we traced the website to a company in orange county california called dream-host - and there's a contact number! " Thanks for calling Dreamhost - we are not available to take your call but if you'll leave a message we will call you back - is not available - please leave a message after the tone - press the pound ket to end recording." turns out dream-host is one of those web-hosting companies that helps clients develop and manage websites - while remaining anonymous if they want to. evidently that's what the owners of "did a-p-d kill today" want for themselves - anonymity while urging others to get involved and stay informed - back to you.
